The Common Pleco is a tough, hardworking bottom-dweller that helps keep your pond clean. With its armored body and famous sucker-mouth, this nocturnal algae-eater scrubs surfaces, hides in driftwood, and grows up to 24 inches long!

Plecos are peaceful but territorial with their own kind—so give them space and plenty of hiding spots. They’re easy to care for, long-lived (10–15 years), and always on the move once the lights go down.
