Amphiumas
Amphiumas
The Two-Toed Amphiuma is a large aquatic salamander. As a matter of fact, they are the largest amphibian native to North America and one of the largest on the planet. Most individuals grow to about 3 feet, but they can get as large as 45+ inches. They're fully aquatic and easy to keep. They eat mealworms, insects and small fish and can be pellet-trained. A lifespan of 10 years is not uncommon with reports of individuals living 30 years or longer. Their scientific name is Amphiuma means. Their range is the southeastern United States.
We are the premier provider of Two-Toes Amphiumas. Our Amphiumas are farm-bred and captive raised. They are not collected from the wild, making them much more sustainable. It also allows us to control quality. So, if you're looking to purchase an Amphiuma, or many Amphiumas, Shongaloo Fish Farm is the place to get them from.
